Gay christmas movies 2022

What are the Best Sapphic Christmas Movies in ? Well, obviously, that&#;s very much a question of taste and what you&#;re looking for. However, beggars can&#;t be choosers (okay, we can, but not too much), and maybe we don&#;t have to be.

There are two modern lesbian Christmas movies coming out in .

When I say &#;lesbian&#;, please message that it could just as well say LGBTQ. I don&#;t know for sure what these characters define themselves as. They&#;re women loving women, so I&#;m going with the L word because that&#;s what I&#;d search for myself.

So, let&#;s begin with the latest LGBTQ Christmas movie additions.

The new Queer woman Christmas movies

Coming out (pun intended) as the first new lesbian Christmas show of is The Holiday Club. Then, the tracking week, we&#;re getting Last ExMas. Oh yeah, the drama. So, let&#;s take a closer look at these two gaybies.

The Holiday Club ()

The Holiday Club features the classic Scrooge-like character who hates the Holidays (all holidays) and another who loves the jolly season (and every other holiday). Sam is the former, Bailey is the latter. The two have a meet-cute on a lonely Valentine’s Day, where they quickly bond and

One of the best parts of the holidays is snuggling up with some popcorn and a tasty beverage and watching a cheesy movie …or five. We’ve compiled a list of the best LGBTQ Christmas movies on TV this year for you to binge.

Until recently, the majority of holiday rom-com relationships on TV were hetero &#; big urban area girl falls for small-town guy, or big town guy falls for small-town girl &#; but more and more, a wider variety of relationships are being represented during the holiday movie season. With network and streaming options available, there are more platforms than ever producing more diverse content. Here are a few of our fave LGBTQ Christmas movies to check out between your yearly viewing of Elf and Christmas Vacation.

The Holiday Sitter

Home of the “you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all” Christmas movies, Hallmark has finally put a gay couple front and center. In its first LGBTQ Christmas movie, The Holiday Sitter features Jonathan Bennet (hunky Aaron Samuels from Mean Girls) as Sam, a big city Manhattanite who has to invest Christmas in the burbs to babysit his niece and nephew instead of his planned sunny vacay in Hawaii.

Needing help with the kids, Sam

In , same-sex marriage was legalized in the Joined States. After that, it seemed like the next big gay rights battle was for representation on made-for-TV Christmas romance movies. I'm not sure why this, over the next few years, became such an issue, but as a gay man who enjoys Hallmark Christmas movies, I was happy to see how this pop culture battle would perform out. In , Hallmark aired ROAD TO CHRISTMASwhich featured a very subtly-portrayed gay couple as secondary characters&#;the relationship was presented in a couple of blink-and-you&#;ll-miss-them moments, but still it seemed like a line had been crossed. In , Lifetime presented TWINKLE ALL THE WAYin which a married lgbtq+ male couple featured prominently. brought the first Christmas romance movies centered on gay couples: Lifetime&#;s THE CHRISTMAS SETUPand Paramount's DASHING INTO DECEMBER. That similar year, Hallmark featured a gay couple as the secondary leads in THE CHRISTMAS HOUSE(a sequel came the next year). Netflix&#;s SINGLE ALL THE WAYand Hulu&#;s HAPPIEST SEASON(which featured a lesbian couple) were presented in Now, in Hallmark, the gold accepted broadcaster of Christmas TV-movies, goes all in with their own movie s

8 Queer Christmas Romcoms That Don’t Totally Suck
By Melis Amber
Dec 11,

Christmas romcoms: you either love them, or you hate ’em. Even if you love them, a good one is challenging to find. The equal can be said of queer cinema. Combine the two, and holy moly, is it difficult to find anything worth viewing?

The eight movies we’ve featured below are far from cinematic masterpieces. But they are fun to observe and will get you in the Christmas liveliness. Also to note, many of them feature lgbtq+ actors!

There are spoilers below, but then again, entity Christmas movies and all, they spoil themselves.

Make the Yuletide Gay

Make the Yuletide Gay () is cheesy in the best way possible. Directed by Steal Williams, the movie follows Gunn (Keith Jordan) as he brings his boyfriend/girlfriend Nathan (Adamo Ruggiero) house to meet his family. The trouble is Gunn wants to keep it all in the closet. While still having his cake. It’s a characteristic LGBTQ+ romantic comedy with a sprinkle of Christmas flair. Plus, if you’re a Degrassi fan like me, seeing Ruggiero is a treat.
