With a strong family background of five generations, we have acquired the knowledge and experience to provide the local collective with a hour service. We are SAIF, NAMM, and BRAMM accredited for your peace of soul.

We can also provide other vehicles, ranging from motorcycle hearses, white, pink and silver hearses, VWs, Land Rovers or traditional black or white horse drawn carriages to even Shire horses.

Funeral director Mr Gay embalmed his first body at 11 - and says that working in funerals isn't just a job, it's a way of life.

He said: "I was always brought up with the trade and it's always been what I wanted to do. I never wanted to do anything else.

"I can't even retain the first time I saw a dead body because it was such a long time ago.

"I was brought up to respect the dead and the fact they are dead means they're not going to hurt you so there was nothing to be scared of."

Mr Gay has pledged his support to a novel crematorium on farmland off Gravesend Road, in Chalk. It will offer a range of services including an opportunity for mourners to webcast their funeral service.
