If you&#;re looking for a story that features male lover characters without being a romance, this is it. The main characters are a gay couple whose relationship is discussed, but no more than any other aspect of their lives, such as labor and friends and growing older. The story focuses on food more than anything else (and does it well!). This manga is also published in a non-BL volume, so it&#;s aimed toward a more general audience. It addresses social issues relating to homosexuality, but with a much more logical and personal take than you would find in most manga.

Okay, hear me out on this one. One reviewer describes this as the story of cis characters being made to dwell through a trans person&#;s experience, which honestly feels incredibly accurate. Not only do we see these characters going through the wrong puberty and longing for the experiences of their actual genders, but also living as "out" to some people (and all the additional complications that brings to sexuality and romantic relationships).
