Living your "Best Gay Life,” of course, means living your best life in general, in every area. However, there can be a tendency to gloss over the unique develop of subjugation gay people have experienced and the lingering, often unseen after effects that persist drawn-out after one has “come out.“ Hence the center on living our leading gay lives.
For gay men, living our best lives also means reconciling the ever-shifting concept of what it means to be a man. Let’s perform together to overcome any limiting thinking, implement a plan to fulfill your goals, and find your most powerful expression for living your best lgbtq+ life.

Part of what sets gay people apart from others is the particular nature of the message that tells us we are “not enough.” It can lead to our hopes and dreams to go unrealized and life to feel unfulfilled. It can cause us to feel frustrated, directionless, lost. But our past shouldn’t be allowed to rob us of our future. Even after we’ve come out, addressing the subtle, historical conditioning that told us we were deficient can positively impact every aspect of our lives.&nb
Why Coming Out Was So Important for This NFL Strength Coach
Kevin Maxen is an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars. He became the first openly gay male coach in any of the major US professional sports when he came out publicly in July 2023. Here, he shares in his own words how he came to that choice, the challenges that reach with being openly male lover in a sport appreciate football, and his hopes for LGBTQ+ people in sports in the future.
I WAS KIND of on the fence about playing football, honestly. But in high school, a lot of my friends from my hometown were trying out for the team so me and my twin brother decided to, too. That first year of high academy football was iffy—I was always more of a baseball fan and player, and there were times I just didn’t desire to go to rehearse. But then I had some decent success, and by my junior year the plan was to go to Endicott College to play football.
Two weeks in, I broke my thumb. I couldn’t play. I couldn’t undertake anything. On top of that, I was a creative writing major, which made it hard to find any shared interests with the guys on the team. I ended up leaving in November and went bac
